How to Have the Perfect Las Vegas Girls Trip

How to Have the Perfect Las Vegas Girls Trip

Who is ready for an epic girls trip?  I think we all are!  My girlfriends and I had the perfect long weekend Las Vegas girls trip earlier this year.  This itinerary was the ideal combination of poolside relaxing, sightseeing, show watching, and beverage enjoying for my girls and me.

Where to Stay

I highly recommend staying on The Strip in Vegas.  It is a little more expensive than off-Strip hotels, but it is worth it.  You will save time and Uber money staying on Las Vegas Boulevard.  Of all the hotels on The Strip, I prefer the Paris Hotel and Casino because of its location and several other reasons.  To explore all those reasons, read Why I Always Stay at Paris Las Vegas.

Transportation from Airport to hotel

After exiting the airport, you will see a taxi line.  The taxi boarding system is very organized, so the line goes quickly.  If you choose to take a taxi over Ubering, you will probably pay a little more.  Whenever I have compared pricing in Vegas, Uber is less expensive every time.  However, if you prefer just hopping in a taxi, make sure to tell them you do not want to go via the highway if you are staying on the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard.  Sometimes I have ridden with drivers that take me along along the highway when it is not the quickest route.  It will add $5-10 to your fare.

What to Pack

As with any vacation, you will need to consider weather and planned activities when deciding what outfits to pack.  I recommend casual but cute clothes during day with comfortable walking shoes.  For night activities, I usually wear a dressy outfit with flats or dressy sandals.  I used to wear high heels with my evening attire, but I have learned that I can wear comfortable shoes and still look stylish.  So that is the route I go.

Should You Buy Tickets Before you Come or Wait Until You Get Here

If you are planning on seeing a show (or two or three) while you are in Las Vegas, you have a couple options as to ticket purchasing.  If you have a specific show you want to see or a hard-to-get ticket like “O”, then buy your tickets before you come.  However, if you are open, then wait until you get here for great ticket prices.  Tix4Tonight offers same day discount tickets to many of the shows.  You can visit their website for booth locations and typical shows where tickets are available.  Often times Tix4Tonight will give you a coupon for show tickets if you come back the next day.  The only downside to buying tickets when you get to Vegas is you may have to wait in lines to get tickets.

DAY 1

For this Las Vegas girls trip, I am starting day 1 as the first full day.  However, we arrived the night before, and I would advise you do the same to maximize your vacation time.  When you arrive, you can get acquainted with the city, wander around, or just go to bed if you get there late.  (We won’t judge you!)  Las Vegas is in the Pacific time zone.  So if you are coming from further east, your body will think it is later than it is, so there is no shame in just going to sleep.

After sleeping in, we enjoyed a late breakfast at Café Americano in Paris Las Vegas.  Then, we headed to the pool for a few hours of sun and swim.  The water in the pool is cooled.  Even in the dead of summer, the pool water will be refreshing and does not feel like bath water.  After going through a security area where they check your bags for outside food and drinks (which are not allowed), we were able to secure some of the last available lounge chairs.  I recommend securing your chairs earlier than we did.

After sunning for a few hours, we went back to our room to shower and get dressed for the day.  We walked to the Caesar’s Forum Shops gazing at the intricate Roman-themed details.  We walked around window shopping before having dinner at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in the Caesar’s casino area.

After dinner, we walked to Bellagio to watch the dancing fountains and to see the seasonally-changed botanical gardens.  These are just a few things you can do for free in Las Vegas.  As soon as we entered the Bellagio casino, we were offered free champagne at Lily Bar & Lounge.  So of course, we accepted and enjoyed a free drink!

After leaving the Bellagio, we went to the Cosmopolitan.  We had a few late night drinks at the beautiful Chandelier Bar before calling it a night.

DAY 2

On our second day of the Las Vegas girls trip, we did a half-day tour of Hoover Dam.  Before meeting our tour guide, we grabbed pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee (or diet coke in my case) from Café Belle Madeleine.  The tour included the Lake Mead Lookout, Hoover Dam viewing, and a walk over the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge (8 amazing trips to build around a bridge).

Instead of going back to our hotel, we asked the tour guide to drop us off at The Wynn which he happily did.  We meandered down The Strip from The Wynn stopping in Palazzo, Venetian, and Flamingo on our way back to Paris.  These hotels have great themes and beautiful lobbies that we wanted to experience.

Once back at our hotel, we rested for a little while before changing clothes into our evening attire.  We ate dinner at Paris Le Village buffet before walking to Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino.  Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood is home to many residency shows like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.  We saw Christina Aguilera who I have always wanted to see in concert.  If Christina is not your cup of tea, there are many residency shows in Las Vegas.  You are bound to find one you like.

DAY 3

We started the third day on our Las Vegas Girls Trip with brunch at Hexx Kitchen and Bar which is located in front of Paris.  I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch, lunch, or dinner.  And you will likely need reservations.

After brunch, we walked to the Linq Promenade for a ride on the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel.  The cabins have a bar and great views of Las Vegas.

Now it was time for more fun in the sun, so we went back to the Paris pool.  We tried to go to the Bally’s pool, which is open to the public, for a change in scenery.  Unfortunately, the Bally’s pool was closed at the time.

After spending the rest of the afternoon at the pool, we showered and changed clothes.  We ate dinner at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grille at Caesar’s.  This is a must-eat restaurant, and make sure to get the pork tenderloin.  This is by far the best pork tenderloin I have ever had in my life.  As if the pork wasn’t enough, it also comes with a sweet potato tamale. You will thank me!

After dinner, we saw Absinthe located in front of Caesar’s.  I have seen Absinthe twice and insist that you see it.  It is the perfect combination of circus acts and Sin City humor. After the show, we completed our Las Vegas girls trip with drinks at Paris’s rooftop bar, Beer Park.
